Success story · AI hotel management system · USA and Europe
Hotel PlatformEight engineers built an AI hotel platform with 1,000+ integrations, where competitors need 50 to 100 people
A next-generation hotel management system, under NDA, with AI in every part of running large and very large hotels in the US and Europe. It connects to more than 1,000 systems, from door locks to Wi-Fi management, so a hotel moves onto it without replacing anything it already runs. I am its fractional CTO and chief architect: the architecture and the concepts are mine, and I lead the eight engineers who build it. Competitors need 50 to 100 people for software this broad. My architecture lets a team of eight carry about 5 million lines of code and add a new integration in 1 to 2 days, where it used to take weeks.

The starting point
A large hotel runs on dozens of systems at once: reservations, front desk, door locks, Wi-Fi, housekeeping, billing and many more, each from a different vendor. Most hotel software was built before AI and connects to only a handful of them, and the staff fill the gaps by hand.
This platform is meant to be the next generation: one system with AI throughout that runs a large hotel end to end and connects to whatever the hotel already has, for the US and European markets. Software this broad usually takes a large vendor and a whole engineering department. Here it had to come from a small team, so the architecture decided everything.
What we did
My architecture, my concepts
I am the fractional CTO and chief architect. I designed the architecture of the whole system and the concepts it is built on, and the company gets a chief architect's work at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire.
More than 1,000 integrations
The platform connects to more than 1,000 systems: hotel door locks, Wi-Fi management and everything in between. Name a hotel integration and it is there, so a hotel switches over without ripping out the equipment and vendors it already pays for.
About 5 million lines, one coherent system
The system has grown to about 5 million lines of code across different technologies and connectors. One architecture holds all of it together, and that is how eight engineers carry a codebase that usually needs a whole department.
AI from the ground up
AI is built into how the hotel is run and has been part of the system since the foundations were laid. Hotel software written before AI has to be retrofitted at great cost, and this platform will never need that rewrite.
Built for the largest hotels
The system is designed to manage large and very large hotels in the US and European markets: the properties with the most systems to connect and the most to save by running them from one place.
Eight engineers instead of 50 to 100
I lead the eight engineers who build it on that architecture. Competitors need 50 to 100 people for software this broad, and the company gets the same reach from a team of eight.
A new integration in 1 to 2 days
The connector framework I designed turns each new integration into routine work instead of a new project. Adding one used to take weeks and now takes 1 to 2 days, and that is how a team of eight keeps pace with more than 1,000 of them.
The result
The company is getting a next-generation AI system for large hotels, with more than 1,000 integrations and about 5 million lines of code, from a team of eight engineers, where competitors need 50 to 100 people for the same work. A new integration takes 1 to 2 days instead of weeks, and the architecture I designed is what makes eight people enough.
